Skateboard (class assignment)
This skateboard project was an interesting experience because I have never done something so abstract. I had to really use my imagination and just go for it free will. I really enjoyed doing it.
Portrait #2 (class assignment)
This portrait is of Blake Lively. I have to say that it isn't one of my favorites, but you know what they say, the artist is always the biggest critique to their own work. So I guess that applies here. I had to put in a lot of detail and quite a lot of shading. Even though I might not like this drawing as much as my others, I still had fun doing it.
Forever Love
This is also one of my favorite paintings that I have done. I finished this one this year when I was 15. I painted it for my uncles birthday present. This painting is of my aunt and uncle on their wedding day. Before this one, I had never painted a man before. It was strange and I definitely had to work at it. I have yet to enter this one in a competition but I don't think that I will be able to because I have already given it away. But I won something better then a ribbon when I gave it away, I saw the smiling faces on my aunt and uncles faces when they unwrapped the package, and thats the best reward that a young artist can receive.

Portrait #1 (In class assignment)
This portrait is of a side-view photo of the one and only, beautiful Angelina Jolie. It was completed this year in early October. My favorite part of drawing this portrait was the eyes. Eyes are just so stunning in general so drawing them can be tricky. But if you put in the detail just right, they can turn out perfect. I had a really fun time doing this portrait.
Teenage Dream
This is one of my most recent paintings. It was completed this year when I was 14. It's my favorite by far. It has so much vibrance and color and even inspires me, myself. I popped the colors out more than they were in the picture to make it more BRIGHT and BEAUTIFUL:) I have yet to enter this one in a competition but trust me I will! I'm most likely not going to give this one away because I really do love it.
Best Friends
I finished this painting last year when I was 14. My inspiration was my best friend at the time, Adelia. I actually painted it from a picture of Adelia and me. We were cops for halloween that year and I really liked a picture that we took so I decided to paint it. This painting actually looks more pop art-ish than my others but I still really like it. I entered it in a school competition and it won 1st so it moved on to city and won 1st, then 1st in district, and to top it off strong 2nd in the entire state. Afterwards I brought it home and gave it to my dad.
Fairytale
I finished this painting last year when I was 13. This is still one of my favorites. It did take quite a while longer than some of my other paintings because its fairly large and I wanted it to be absolutely perfect. I do admit that there is a somewhat pattern to my paintings. There all of people and I like to have at least a little bit of nature or a fun background. I try to put as much detail as possible into every part of my paintings, the face, hair, clothing, body, and background.
I actually tried to enter this painting into a the Neptunian but they sent it back because it was to large. But I'm definitely not giving up that easily, I'll be entering this one in several more competitions.

Bieber fever??...
I was a little obsessed back then...
I sketched this last year..
This was the first sketch that I did in color. Theres really no explanation for drawing this one. I loved him and I'm not ashamed to admit it, but I am over it..have been for a year now.
But I still really like this sketch.
Night-time moonlight
This painting has a little more back-round information than some of my others. My really good family friends father, who I'm very close to, really loves to sometimes sit out and look at the moon, so that gave me an idea to paint him a moon for his birthday. It wasn't very difficult because I've really only painted people, so painting something like this was more simple. I painted this one last year in 2010 when I was 14.
Baby Love
This is another one of my free-hand drawings. I found the picture on the internet and feel in love with this little girls smile and curiosity.
I usually choose babies to draw because they're just so cute and full of laughter and love.
I most likely did this sketch in 2009.
Marilyn Monroe
I painted this one when in 2009 when I was 14.
At this time I was just trying to figure out what my style was and what a better way to start than with Marilyn? She is such a gorgeous woman and inspiration. Her beauty, till this day, lives on. I really like the way I chose to paint this painting. I had Marilyn be all black and white and the back-round in color. The under painting for the back-round is a blue but I went over is with a palet knife and just had fun with it. I used several colors, turqouise, blues, greens, and different tints and shades. It was deffinetly one of my more enjoyable paintings.
After a lot of thought, I gave this painting to one of my really good family friends who just fell in love with it. I am sure that I will do other Marilyn paintings in the future. Her beauty is too significant to ignore.
Baby Chase
This is one of the first sketches that I did free-hand.
It's of my baby brother Chase. I really liked the way his eyes twinkled in the picture, and he's such a cutie:)
Horse
I did this painting when I was 13 in 2009. My inspiration for this painting was just my love for wildlife, especially horses. I've always loves riding and just being around horses period. I really like the colors in the back-round which is the sky. And the detail in the horse was fairly difficult because you have to get the muscle shape just right.
I gave this one to one of my good friends for her birthday.

Un-named
I finished this painting when I was 13.
I chose to do this painting because it reminded me of home, where I have been living for the last 8 years, on the coast. Before I started on it, I hadn't realized that painting the ocean would be so difficult but in the end it was worth the difficulty. My favorite part of doing this painting was the beach floor. There was a lot of blending and different shades of colors.
If I was to re-do something on this painting, it would be the hair because 2 years ago I didn't have the still somewhat slim knowledge that I have today. And today I have my own special way of painting hair that I wish I had then, but that's the point of growing older and wiser, you gain knowledge and skill towards things that you may or may not of known how to do once.
I gave it to my grandparents because the woman in the painting resembled my grandmother, and she is a very beautiful and truly amazing person.
:)
Love of the Nature
I completed this painting around the time when I was 13 years old.
When I saw the original picture for this painting, I fell in love with the dark, mysterious background. The way the mountains reflect on the lake, to me truly symbolizes peace and beauty.
I also really like the way some of the woman's body is shadowed in darkness and some is captured in the moonlight.
Before this painting, I had never done a full body piece and I actually prefer not to. But I know that I can never get better at something unless I practice so I guarantee that I will do somewhat similar painting as to this one in the future.

Woman in the Garden
I did this painting I believe in 2009 when I was still 12. I really love this painting because of all the color. It took a while longer than a lot of my others because I had to put in a lot of detail, but it was definitely worth it.
I gave this one to my amazing grandparents.

1920's Lady
This painting is one of my favorites. I finished this one around the same time as the last, in 2008.
The eyes are probably my favorite part. But overall I'm pretty proud to say that I did this.
I ended up giving the painting to my dad for his birthday and loves it.

I entered this in several competitions.
It placed:
1st in my school
1st in my city
1st in the district
and
3rd in state
(all in my age group. 6-8th grade)
First painting
This was my very first painting that I did in 2008 when I was 12. It's not much but I will always know it as my first.
I chose this picture because I knew that I needed to start off with something simple.
